End of Watch on Bluray

Published on January 22nd, 2013

This week one of my favorite films of last year hits store shelves. End of Watch is available everywhere on Bluray and DVD on Tuesday January 22nd. The film follows two police officers played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena on and off the job. It’s shot in a found footage style and director David Ayer did a fantastic job.

The Bluray comes with a digital copy and as for special feature it includes several deleted scenes as well as a commentary by director David Ayer. It has Six Featurettes each about 2 minutes in length. They aren’t really even worth mentioning though because they are so short. I would have liked to have seen a 15-30 minute making of feature instead. These must have been something they slapped together for HBO or the like when the movie was in theaters. So instead of going through some extra effort to give the home viewer their money’s worth in extra’s, they just tossed these on there. That said, the film is still worth the purchase all by itself. It just would have been nice to see behind the scenes and hear more from the talent.

Also we were fortunate enough to sit down and chat with Michael Pena and Natalie Martinez about their roles in the film last year. Feel free to check that out below.
