Jason Mraz at Gexa Energy Pavillion

Published on August 31st, 2012

Earlier this month, Jason Mraz brought his latest Tour to Gexa Energy Pavilion for a night full of fun tunes with plenty of word play. If you’ve never seen him live, you are missing out on a great show. While it’s less than flashy, Mraz plucks his guitar and sings with ridiculous skill.

It’s an absolute treat getting to watch him, but an even bigger treat getting to hear him. Some musicians are great in studio, and he’s good no doubt. But his cd’s are nothing compared to the live experience. I would compare the cd to eating oatmeal and the live experience to something more like delicious bacon.

His opener was Christina Perri, whom I’ve never cared much for, but the girl does rock out. I don’t really have anything bad to say about her, she’s just not my cup of tea.

If you missed him this time around, you should try your darnedest to catch him the next time he tours. Which truly is not often.
