The Summerland Tour

Published on July 11th, 2012

Saturday evening, at Billy Bobs Texas, the Summer Land Tour took over the honky tonk for a fun night of rock music from the 90′s. I was in nostalgia heaven. With bands that had hit after hit and half hour sets, it was a fun variety platter kind of night.

Bands like Lit performed tunes like Zip Lock Bag and My Own Worst Enemy while climbing on the barricade making musical love to the crowd. The biggest acts of the night Sugar Ray & Everclear both performed sets packed with their number one tunes.

Mark McGrath brought a smile to my face as he bounced around the stage. One of the most fun acts to watch live might just be Sugar Ray. Mark lets it all hang out. When Everclear finally took the stage the crowd was so amped up one person was hurt in the audience. The band graciously took five to let the venue take care of the girl, before kicking back up.

Mark and Everclear front man Art who put together this tour, did a great job. I felt like I was 17 and in high school again. The two also mentioned this being a yearly thing. I’d like to see it live on for years to come. I had a cool evening with some fun nostalgic tunes.
