Saturday, Matt Kenseth finally smashed his 76 Race win-less streak, taking the win in the Samsung Mobile 500 and the prized six shooters at Texas Motor Speedway. Kenseth had a hot car from the start, qualifying in the top 5 David Ragan who was on pole, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, and Ragan Smith.The 17 car led for 169 laps, keeping a hearty almost 8 second lead on the pack, not ever really having to fight for track position except during the very few restarts.
Towards the end of the race, Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart tried to strategize the fuel game and stay out to gain position. However the yellow flag both drivers were hoping for never came, putting Kurt in a 10th place finish instead of a first place win. Clint Bowyer finished second, and Carl Edwards finished third.
