Denny Hamlin took the win at Texas Motor Speedway this Sunday. Taking not only the points lead, but his 8th win, and sweeping the Spring Cup Series at Texas for the year. Early in the day Biffle was holding a strong lead on the pack, but issues with his car caused him to fall behind.

The excitement doesn’t stop with Hamlin’s win, Kyle Busch got into trouble on lap 159 when he spun out and then sped onto pit row, earning a one lap penalty. Which eventually led to another 2 lap penalty for un sportsman like conduct when Kyle gave one of the officials the finger.

Then on lap 192 you would have thought you’d entered a boxing ring after Jeff Burton got into the car of Jeff Gordon and fist started flying on the back stretch. Hamlin taking the lead shortly after the restart. Another caution coming out giving Kenseth the opportunity to overtake Hamlin, even taking the lead during the last few laps but not being able to hold out.

The AAA Texas 500 may just have been one of the most exciting races of the entire 2010 season. Giving those in attendance their moneys worth, and reason to come back next year.
